Saturday Night With Grand Marquis
February 6th, 8 to 11
Grand Marquis will be at the Des Moines Ballroom on February 6th for the Saturday Night Swing Dance as well as a jazz workshop from 7 to 8. Admission is $12 which will get you in for not only the music workshop but the dance as well.
From 8 to 11 Grand Marquis from Kansas City will be playing music for your listening and dancing enjoyment. Admission is $12 for the entrie evening. Don't miss this event.
Hawkeye Swing Festival
The Hawkeye Swing festival, organized by the U of I Swing Dance Club, is a dance weekend that is held every spring at the University of Iowa, in Iowa City. The HSF is Iowa's first dance festival that features some of this country's finest instructors and the region's best social dancers. It is three days of swing dancing that includes classes for all levels, dances with live music, DJ's playing your favorite jazz and blues, and contests that highlight competitors from all across the region.
The Hawkeye Swing Festival welcomes dancers of all ages and ability levels. It is a time to make new friends and visit with old ones. Through classes, dances, and competitions they hope to continue to promote the swing dance scene in Iowa and throughout the Midwest.

Jitterbugs' Night Out is held upstairs at the Eagles Lodge on 24th & Douglas in Omaha, every Friday night! Doors open at 7:30, and then the evening starts at 8:00 p.m. with a beginning swing dance lesson (no partner required). The DJ spins their tunes until midnight. This event is smoke-free, alcohol-free, and all ages. Alcohol is available from the bar downstairs. Dressing sharp is strongly encouraged, as is bathing. Come on out and see what's got people talking.

Jive Junction is the third Friday of every month. Swing Des Moines’ monthly swing dance. DJ Randy Reid plays music from the 20’s through the 50’s. It's held at the West Des Moines Community Center, 217 5th St., West Des Moines, IA. 8-11
